The road you came in on…
For so many of us, that road led to Silver Lake —a place that shaped our lives for the better.
“Friends of Silver Lake” is a community of people whose hearts have been touched by the ministry that happened at camp. We’ve laughed, sung, prayed, grown, and seen God’s love come alive in this sacred space. We’ve seen the impact not only in ourselves, but in our families, friends and communities.
Our mission statement is: “Uniting the dispersed community that values Silver Lake and working toward a vision of future ministry in line with its historic mission.”
Recently, The Southern New England Conference Board of Directors announced that the summer of 2026 will be the final season of camping at Silver Lake. In response, the Friends of Silver Lake has officially incorporated as a nonprofit with bylaws, a board, officers and working committees. While the future is uncertain, we are determined that the ministry itself — the spirit, transformation, and connection it fostered — will continue. We also believe there is something truly special about this place that’s worth preserving.
Outdoor ministry and ministry with young people matters. That’s why we are taking action now – to keep the possibility alive that Silver Lake’s ministry will continue beyond next summer.
As 2025 draws to a close, we invite you to consider a year-end gift to Friends of Silver Lake. We’re excited to share that we already have pledges totaling $40,000 with every member of our Board participating to create a matching gift fund. Your contribution today will double its impact and sustain this beloved ministry for generations to come.
If your faith, your friendships, or your sense of purpose were shaped by Silver Lake’s ministry, please join us in creating a new day for Silver Lake by giving today.
Thank you for standing with us at this pivotal moment in the life and ministry of Silver Lake.
In faith and gratitude,
Brian Lapis and Andrew Wicks
